What is a BAL assessment and BAL report
- A BAL (Bushfire Attack Level) is a means of measuring a building's potential exposure to ember attack, radiant heat and direct flame contact, in a bushfire event. It is a basis for establishing the requirements for construction to improve protection of building elements from attack by bushfire.
Once the assessment has been completed you will know your BAL "bushfire attack level" and be able to construct your house to the correct standard.

A Brief History of Toodyay
Toodyay makes claim to be one of the earliest inland towns in Western Australia, and home to the Noongar people of Ballardong for thousands of years. Built around the Avon River valley it was discovered by Ensign Robert Dale in 1830. The original village was established only 6 years later but it was prone to flooding so it was abandoned in 1850. Another town site was built on higher ground 2 kilometers (1.2 mi) upstream. The old location is now known as “Old Toodyay”.
